Paris

This is Monet's famous "Water Lilies" at the Museum de Orangerie. This is a twenty foot segment which maybe equals one eighth of th total painting. Tres bien!
This is one of Brian's favorite pictures in the Musum de Orsay in Paris.
This is Kelly feeling some French guy up in the Louvre
This is the Mona Lisa. Big whoop
Venus di Milo, more impressive than the Mona Lisa, but still a big whoop
This is the room of mirrors at the Palace of Versailles. This was the most impressive room in the Palace
The Palace itself; this is about one sixth of the length
Brian having a beer with Jim Morrison
Kelly having a moment in the sun, and a beer with Jim
Jim

The stained glass window inside the Sainte-Chappelle where the Crown of Thorns was supposedly housed.
This is Foucault's pendulum inside the Pantheon in Paris. This is important because it is the site where Foucault convinced the world that the Earth was revolving. Very cool
The Arc de Triomphe, Napoleon's largest symbol of victorious slaughter
Bianca, the sleepy housecat of the Hotel Montpellier where we stayed in Paris

The Hotel Montpellier! Just kidding this is Notre Dame Cathedral.
Hi Stacia, this is us on the Rick Steve's tour through historic Paris.
Two of the hundreds of gargoyles permanently employed to protect the religious treasures in Notre Dame. These two were our favorite.
Brian on top of Notre Dame pointing at the Eiffel Tower. We had already been to the tower so we knew it was actually bigger than this.
This is the stained glass window at the Notre Dame; if you see the man at the bottom he is actually giving a mass

A little closer view
A much better view!
Pretty good view, but not as good as the last one
We climbed as high as they would legally allow us to (it was the cheapest way to the top). This was only the second floor.
Much more dramatic at night, huh?

Paris - WOW, I was there 30 years ago!! I wonder how much it has changed and if it is as expensive as I keep hearing it is.
So glad that Steve is coming in handy and that the two of you are able to be out enjoying the WORLD. Several of us are living vicariously through you and wishing we could be doing same.
Great pics and great words.
Wishing you much love and happiness on your journey of a lifetime!! xxoo
